The 1802 House Bed & Breakfast Inn is a historic, independent Kennebunkport, Maine Inn, owned and operated by Carl and Eileen Robley. Originally from England, they moved to the West Coast in 2005 and then to Upstate New York in 2011. You will find the couple's English influences throughout the inn.
The house is of original Colonial design and as the name implies, was built in 1802. Extensions were added over the years, and in the 1990s it was converted into the charming bed and breakfast you see today. 1802 House Bed and Breakfast Inn is now considered one of the town's finest historic inns and best places to stay in Kennebunkport.
About the Owner!
Julianna Acheson is originally from Maine, has travelled and worked around the globe in her former career as a cultural anthropologist and speaks five languages. She is delighted to own and manage the 1802 House Bed and Breakfast which she acquired in 2022 from Carl and Eileen Robley. Julianna has been an innkeeper for 7 years. She was inspired by her grandparents, James and Mary Acheson, who owned and operated eleven hotels in Maine and New Hampshire, such as the Belgrade Hotel and the Augusta House Hotel. Riding the elevators and watching guests eat at the formal dining room of the Augusta House as a child inspired Julianna to go into the hospitality business. She puts her anthropology career and her love for hospitality together to welcome guests from all over the globe, all fifty states and locally as well.
