The 1802 House Bed and Breakfast Inn is a historic, independent Kennebunkport, Maine Inn, owned and operated by Carl and Eileen Robley. Originally from England, they moved to the West Coast in 2005 and then to Upstate New York in 2011. You will find the couple's English influences throughout the inn.
The house is of original Colonial design and as the name implies, was built in 1802. Extensions were added over the years, and in the 1990s it was converted into the charming bed and breakfast you see today. 1802 House Bed and Breakfast Inn is now considered one of the town's finest historic inns and best places to stay in Kennebunkport.
Our guest rooms take their names from places in Maine. Anglophiles will note that these names come from places in England as well. Most notably are two castles: the widely known Windsor Castle (one of Queen Elizabeth II's homes) and the lesser-known, Arundel Castle. Arundel has been home for centuries to the Dukes of Norfolk who have played significant roles in English history dating all the way back to Henry VIII and his daughter Elizabeth I.
Our six beautiful guest rooms offer true comfort and modern amenities such as fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, premium bedding, plush robes and much more. A freshly prepared three-course gourmet breakfast made with local and organic ingredients is included each morning of your stay. Tea, coffee and snacks are available any time.
Our quiet, tranquil neighborhood is perfect for a relaxing Kennebunkport getaway. At the same time, the inn is just a short walk to the popular Dock Square village center with its galleries, shops and restaurants. We lie along the 15th fairway of the historic Cape Arundel Golf Course, making the 1802 Bed and Breakfast Inn an ideal location for golfers.
